Solution for Unique Identification of Cartridges and Vials

SANDMANN is designing and manufacturing a solution that provides unique identification of cartridges and vials with a 2D datamatrix code engraved on the aluminium crimp.
This solution is currently used by pharmaceutical companies.

The code is permanent and his 100% efficiency offers an identification with no ambiguity.

The process is easy to implement and allows engraving of information in the 2D datamatrix code such as :

• Item code (alpha-numeric characters)
• Batch number (alhpla-numeric characters)
• Incremental number to identify the container inside the batch (1 to 999,999)

Usually the marking operation takes place after the filling and the crimping stages, combining a laser marker and an automatic quality control of the marking to ensure the readability of the code.

The reading operations take place at various stages of the manufacturing process : during the filling, the packaging or during the whole life of the product.
The reading can be completed either unitarily using a manual bench, or using a high speed fully automatic inspection machine if a 100% production check is required.
